Hello there. I am a very old Iksar fan and early player of Everquest I.
I have recently downloaded Everquest II upon hearing of its free to play. Heres some background info. I was playing Everquest I and had the various expansions the Iksar one, up to Shadows of Luclin i believe could be wrong. I also remember some time spent in the planes and had access to the planes of fear.
Anyways I was always a fan of the Iksar. My main character for Everuqest one was an Iksar Shadow Knight named Rakarsis (or something similiar). Its been so long ago so i have trouble remembering. I got to around lvl 38 as the rules back then I had double EXP penalties both as being an Iksar then as a Shadow Knight. I died in this deep tomb with my friends and my body somehow got lost in by dying and somehow breaking through the ground fallliing forever.
I lost nearly everything of worth on my character. Ruined my character, and had a bit of a depression episode and realized how someone could think about killing themselves because of Everquest. I just spent soo much time energy and love into my Iksar character and one night it was utteraly ruined.
I decided to quit playing Everquest and after Rakarsis died and the depression i had over his death but since Everquest II is now free i wish to return and return as one of my most beloved races the Iksar.
I found this site while i was doing research while my game was downloading and registered. If you guys stay on a certain server or whatever I would be pleased to get to know more people who like the Iksar and their history as I do.
That said I dont know exactly how much time ill be able to devout to Everquest II since SWTOR is coming out soon and i will be playing that while i am paying for it. But i know i will always jump into Everquest II to play some quality Iksar adventuring whenever I want to unwind. I have many cherised memories of old as being Rakarsis and SWTOR is still too new to ever have that special connection to me as EverQuest was my first favorite of the MMORPG genre and the Iksar a favorite part of that game.
