What is "Ik", and why is it in your name?
The Old Empire was known as the "Empire of Ik", before Sebilis fell. Hence the name.
Where did all this lore come from?
In-Game resources from both EverQuest I and II; books, NPC's, and many other sources.
Is it all official lore?
Yes. There are a few exceptions which were written by other players, but all are based on Canon lore. We do not support or post fan-fiction.
Why only Iksar Lore?
A lot of sites offer a generalized resource for many different kinds of lore, which can leave a few specific areas dry. Iksar lore is hard to find, and a large amount of rich history even more-so. The Iksar are one of the most detailed races that Sony Online Entertainment has in their stock of others; their history and lore some of the most intricate, complex, and deep workings I have seen in my many years playing EverQuest, and EverQuest II. It is only right that others get to enjoy the creativity as I have.
I found some lore not listed here. Can I submit it?
Certainly. Feel free to use the Mail system on this site to send it to me, with the source as well. I will verify that it's genuine, and post it if it fits the theme of our site. Please note that not all lore submissions will be accepted. Fan-fiction will be denied immidiately.
The Lore from the Codex of War is different than what is here. Why?
The codex of war is entirely fan-fiction, and is not universally accepted as a source of lore. While many would argue against that, I believe that if it isn't in game, isn't written by the developers, then it isn't "official" in any regard.
Can I put some of this lore on my website?
I would prefer that you link to it instead. The posts kept here took a lot of effort and energy by many different people to find and maintain. It is out of respect for other's work that I ask this.
